Mixing Kit Fun

So, I started this LO using my July CKCB Kit,
but, I just couldn't quite call it finished.
It was missing something.
What was it......
thinking.....
thinking.....
Hmmmm......

Well I left it open and didn't put it away,
and then when I made my August kit,
I included some older Glitz Design stickers
that seriously needed some love  on a page.
And as I looked at them.....voila!!  I figured it out.
I pulled out this page, and BOOM!!!
Just what it needed.

Hello blingy "LOVE" your just what we needed.
And heart with wings, go on with your sweet self.
Just what we needed too.

See that tag....yep another technique from Claudine Hellmuth's
Technique Toolbox class.  That class was FANTASTIC!!
It ended today =(.  But I have learned so much that I will use.
LOVE THAT!!!

Oh Maggie Holmes, will you be my BFF?
Your camera's and fabric frames are just the best!

Oh and little potty people, you have never been my fav.
Seen you in a lot of places, but never really liked you.....
Until now.
Apparently add some hearts and bling and I'm in!
Love you.

So there you have it.
Added those stickers and called her good.
"Hello Love" I love you =)
And if your wondering what this little lovely page is all about.....
It is a little poem I wrote about Sir Cuteness (my grandbabe) and
my very special relationship.

Thank you for stopping by.....
I hope you have a Blessed and Beautiful,

No Patterned Paper Challenge ~~ WHAT?!! =)

So, every month over at the CKCB, the DT has a challenge.
Mine this month was QUITE the challenge for me.
NO PATTERNED PAPER!!
I LOVE PATTERNED PAPER!!!
But it wouldn't be much of a challenge if it didn't challenge me right?
Rightoh!!

So I took this challenge head on.
I gave it some thought,
and broke out the masks and mists and went to work.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this picture of my little gbabe,  Sir Cuteness.
I did some lovely retouching of the original, and got this very
lovely vintage look.

I LOVE this Tim Holtz music note mask and had so much fun doing this
background.  I love doing this kind of thing.  I misted it with Heidi Swapp
Teal and Gold Lame and the two make a lovely combo.

Added some little banners.....

Look at that masking detail.
I love that mask.

And these lovely tags are a technique I learned from the lovely
Ashli Oliver over at The Purple Mailbox.  She is one of the most
creative people I have ever "met".  She is amazing!!  If you don't
know her work, please head right on over there and check her out.
She is truly an amazing artist and an even more beautiful person.

Just wanted to give ya a close up of this adorable little man.
I mean seriously.  He is just THE CUTEST!!!!!

He was 4 here and definitely a cutie pie =)

So there you have it.
All twined up and ready for our scrapbook.

And then I made this one.
And I tell you, it looked darker on my iPad.
On here it looks SO light.  Sorry about that!!!

So I took a dark red piece of cardstock
and started adding some Washi.
Look at this Washi.  The glasses are just so stinkin' cute.
It is MME, btw.

The "You are Fabulous" sticker is on a tag that has a chalkboard technique on it.
I need to do a tutorial on that.
So easy.
So fun.
So great.
Yes, I like that technique =)

For a little more added texture and interest I dry embossed
my layered cardstock pieces and then wrote on the black with
my white pen.  I added some stitching.  I love stitching!!

OH this chipboard mustache, is just FANTASTIC!!!
I painted it with black gesso.
Love.

And there you have it.  Another fun LO!!

This was quite the challenge, but I loved it!!!

So won't you join in with us?
And when ya do.....link it up.
We'd love to see it!!

Trendy 2013 - Challenge #2

Challenge #2 for the CKC blog is to use our leftover scraps on a page.
Well, I just so happen to have LOTS and LOADS and baskets
FULL of scraps.

So on this LO I went to my August kit and pulled out a background
aqua sheet, and one of my fav papers from this months kit.  It's a
Basic Grey older sheet, but it is just so fun and modern.

I was so happy when the idea came to use this paper with this photo
of my trendy smoothie from our local health food store.
The two go hand in hand.

I grabbed a scrap basket of lots of die cuts and fussy cut items in there.
Some, like the "Marvelous" one here, are quite old.  I
was so happy to get them on a LO, along with
a few more current ones, like this "LOVE" one from the EP Oh Snap collection.

In Claudine Hellmuth's Technique Toolbox class, she shows us how to
make a chalkboard on practically anything.  It works SO well too, and
is SO easy.  I mean really, really easy.

And the result?  Fun and Fun.  =)

So once again, here is my finished project.
All dolled up with my scraps, a little flair and
a wonderful "Trendy" chalkboard element.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Good Ole Summertime - LO #2

So here is LO #2 from my CKCB kit.
I am starting to feel right back in the swing of things.
This LO came together rather quickly.

My dear Beautiful Miss A and I went to a local lake beach this
summer and had such a great day.
It indeed was "a perfect day!"

I love a good mixed title!!

Oh Glitz paper.....
You are so sweet!!
Lots of fun on this page.

And.....
What's better than flowers on page?

Twine wrapped flowers on a page of course =)

I tucked some of those SC printables in there.....
and some pen work here and there.....
And I love the pop of the black polka dot washi that matches my
swimsuit.  Love that!!

Oh yes Good Ole Summertime has such been fun!!

Thank you for stopping by!!

I hope you have a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty Kind of Day ~~

Gelling & Turning 5 ~~ Challenge #1

I'm so sorry it's been a little quiet around here the last week or so.
My mom was in the hospital from Thursday to Sunday with
Pneumonia.  But she is home and feeling a little better, so I have
been playing catch up this week.

I love pockets on a page and I LOVE that the first challenge with the CKCB
was all about geocaching and pockets.

Well our little gbabe turned 5 last week and here we are on his birthday.
He wanted to do his own hair.  So he gelled it up, and let me
just tell you this babe has some hair, curly, gorgeous hair!

He is just so stinkin' cute!!

My title sits on little pockets.

Gelling & .....

Turning 5, indeed. =)

I love that there were flowers in this month's kit.
I heart flowers.
My stash is starting to dwindle in the flower dept,
but I still have lots of pretty little bits.  This little lovely
I layered up and stamped it up and added this lovely brad!!
Oh how I love thee!

These arrow are just punched out of a piece of embossed Coordination's
and Washi'd up.  Aren't they splendid?  =)

And there you have it.
Lovely little pockets holding my title.
Lovely I tell you.....just lovely.

Thank you for stopping by.

Retro Chic - August CKCB Kit

Welcome to the CKCB DT Kit Reveal Hop for August.
Can you believe it is August already?
It is a seriously busy birthday month here in the Winslow
household.  So lots of scrappy occasions coming up =)

I'm so glad you are here and if you are following the hop,
you should be here via the lovely Angela's blog.

So this month did I ever ponder on this kit.
These colors I found a little hard to replicate.
Seems I don't have a whole lot of black and cork in my stash.
So I pondered.....
And pondered.....
And pondered some more.

And did come up with my kit, that I actually really like,
but I know will find it a challenge, because it is a little
outside my norm.
But I'm always up for a good challenge =)
so here we go.

The kit for this month is The Confidence Kit from
Scrapping from the Inside Out.

It is a lovely kit.  Isn't she? =)

So it was time, really past time,
for me to get my kit built, and build I did.
Say hello to "Retro Chic".
This is the first month I've ever named my kit,
but I love it!  Kits always have a name, and I thought
mine needed one to.

Here are the lovely patterned papers I chose:
Echo Park:  Happy Camper - Arrowhead
Echo Park:  This & That - Dots - Quilt - Flower Box (2)
MME:  Stella Rose - Hazel
MME:  Follow Your Heart - Be amazing
Basic Grey:  Obscure
Webster's Pages:  Palm Beach - Flamingo Fun
Glitz:  Cashmere Dame - Banner - Gingham - Floral

Here is the lovely Cardstock:
(2) Aquas - Kraft - Brick Red - Sunny Yellow

There were several cut apart sheets in the kit.  I gave this a little thought.
I have a lot of cut apart sheets, that I don't utilize enough,
SO I added several to my kit.
Echo Park:  This & That - Red Floral - Wooden Nickel (2) - Yardsticks - Journaling Cards
Echo Park:  Oh Snap - Cameral Journal Cards
MME:  Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing Ephemera Paper

My mom bought me the Echo Park This & That collection a while back,
and it seems to fit my "Retro Chic" styled kit this month, so I've added
quite a bit of it to this kit.

In fact, I included the sticker sheet and the letter sheet from this line
as well as the sticker sheet from the Echo Park Note to Self line.
Love these and seriously need to use them.
They need a home on a page I tell ya.  =)

And I added some Glitz rubons and some misc. rubons that I've
had in my stash far to long.
There is some MME The Sweetest Thing chipboard,
as well as some Crate Paper chipboard.

Yes there is more....
I know, stop it already!!
But no, I continue =)

A little bit of Indie Chic from MME and some Authentique Icon elements.

I was so glad the original kit has flowers in it.
I heart flowers.
So I added some.
And some leaves.
For good measure =)

And a chipboard mustache.
LOVE.

And random bits and bobs and bottle caps and
doo-dads and thingy-ma-bobs.
Oh and dylusions Ink Spray.
Yes please, every day of the week.

And stamps.
The one on the left is an older MME stamp set that seems to
make the cut more times than not.
Love.
And I added a letter stamp set this month, because it needs some love.
Its feeling a tad lonely.
And then one more set for good measure.
It is a newer set and needs a home on a page.

And with that.....
I called her done.

WOW!!!  I know right!!

I'm exhausted just looking at this baby.
I am REALLY looking forward to the challenge of this kit.

With my July kit I ended up with:
11 LO's
1 Tag Book
&
5 Cards

I call that a pretty successful use of my kit.
Only had one PP left over.  I tucked her safely back in the file,
and will get it out for another kit I am sure, as it is a fav.
So I am hoping for August to be just as successful if not more so,
with such a lovely kit and LOTS of choices to pick from.

So from here please go check out the delightful Jemma's blog.
And here's the full list, just in case you get lost along the way.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
and have a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty Kind of Day ~~
