CKCB Blog Hop November

Welcome to the CKCB November Blog Hop.

It has been sheer joy to my heart to be the
guest designer this month.
Thanks so much for having me CKCB.

So to end my month here as GD
I thought I'd share with you two of my favorites
made from my kit this month.

First up are my girls.
Are they not just gorgeous?!!
These girls have my heart.
They are my adopted daughters and I couldn't be prouder of them.
The one with her eyes closed is the oldest and she is a RN.
And the other is starting her Master's Program
in January and will be a PA in two years.
I am so so proud of them.

This pic was taken on Arielle's (the youngest) birthday.
It is one of my favorite pics of them.

All the lovely little elements in this kit
added so nicely to the feel of this photo.
So much love!

The second one I have is a little Halloween mini.
My little Grandson and I dress up for Halloween when we are together,
and always have a grand ol time.
And I always try to make a mini book of our time together.

This year he was Ant Man and I was
Doe a Deer and we ventured to our
churches October 31st party.
It was so much fun!

I love this little page with all the cute
little candy corn.

I also made little envelopes this year to go in our book

Here we are at the end of the night,
tired but so so happy too.
He ate to much candy but that is exactly the way it should be
on Halloween right? :)

Here is a fun little element on the cover.
I recently got a fuse tool and wow is it fun!
I made this little shaker card to go on the front.
So stinkin' cute!

This is another favorite page.
This is me and my girl.
She was Ms. Captain America
with Doe a Deer.

So there you have it.
Some very fun pages from a really fun kit this month.

Okay so hop on over to Sherrie and see what loveliness she
has in store for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Many Blessings,
dawn

Love You More - Challenge #2 CKCB

Hello my friends!
Today I have a LO for Challenge #2 over
at the CKCB for November.

Challenge #2: "A Walk in the Woods
In the fall, we often take long walks in the woods
to enjoy the crisp air
and turning of the leaves.
For this challenge, let the forest be your inspiration.
Create a project inspired by the woods."

Challenge accepted! :)

When I read the challenge I KNEW the pictures I would go to.
Last summer my family and I went on vacation to
Yellowstone.
We hiked, camped and hiked some more in this
incredibly awe inspiring place.
My husband and I went on honeymoon to Yellowstone,
the summer after we were married in September 1998.
It was glorious!
So to take our grandson on such an amazing trip
was amazing.
We are planning to go again soon,
maybe even this summer ;)

This is a picture of my husband on the day
him and I snuck away and went into the
back country.  What an amazing day it was too!!

For this LO I found a birch tree cut file,
and knew I had to use it!

Ashli Oliver (AKA Soaphouse Mama)
uses a technique in her art journaling that I incorporated
here on my page with wonderful results.

NOTE:
I have taken all of Ashli's courses and learn valuable lessons
from each one.  So if you ever are looking for a
class well worth the money,
do check out my dear friend right here.

The Technique:
She writes directly on her page, but not
in any organized fashion.
She just writes what appears to be words,
but in an artsy way.
I did that here with my white Signo pen between
the birch trees.
I love the result SO much!
It gives so much interest to this LO.
Thanks Ashli for the GREAT tip!

And the journaling is tucked away on that little tag
at the top of the picture.

I have a cut file from Felicity Jane
that I LOVE SO MUCH!!!

And so I laid it on my page and I LOVE IT!!

This page was so much fun to make.
I did add just a couple things from my FJ kit as well
like the "Remember Today" title and wood veneer heart.
I like combining kits too.

Have a Super Blessed day
and thanks for stopping by,

Coffee is Food - CKC Guest Designer Challenge

I am thoroughly enjoying my time as GD for the CKC Blog this month.
I have many more pages to post
and a mini book, so be watching for that.

But today I am up on the blog with the "Favorite Meal" challenge.
So as I was thinking about this,
I got to thinking about my love for coffee.
I seriously could have a cuppa morning,
noon and night, but since that is not the best idea
I stick with mornings for the most part,
and sometimes an afternoon goodie like here,
and Monday night Bible Study,
Oh wait....yes I really like coffee. ;)

So for this LO I decided to go the route of coffee,
since it is a fav of mine, and basically a food group.

This was a particularly special day with my oldest girl
at a coffee shop about 2 1/2 hours from home.
We had Lavender coffee (yes that is a thang)
and Lavender macaroons (which is also a thang).
Oh my it was so good and pretty.
See...

I tend to be very linear in my LO's.
I'm trying to break out of that,
so I added circles,
and hearts,
in a linear fashion.
Haha
Its just the way I roll.

#comfortfood indeed

And there you have it.
Comfort food at its finest,
in the form of ye olde coffee bean ;)

Thank you for stopping by,
and stay tuned for more to come this month.
Oh yes, I'd love to kill this kit.
Let's see how far I get.

Blessings,
dawn

Hello November

Happy November Y'all!!
I love the fall and I love November.
I am such a fan of Thanksgiving,
yes I do love the food,
but most of all I love my family,
and taking time to be thankful and this November
is getting started off just right.

I received an email about a month ago
asking if I'd like to be the guest designer
for the month of November.
I was so excited and so honored to be apart of this great
team again.  It has been awhile.

So Hi!
I'm just thrilled as punch to be here.
(I don't even know what that means, but still ;) )

The kit this month is the amazing "City Park" kit from
Cocoa Daisy.  It is just lovely.

So I have been building kits from my stash for ever so long,
and what I have discovered for me is that it is best
to work with a good sized kit with several choices.
I like a good sized kit.
I do reserve the right to pull from my stash,
but try to stay within the confines of the kit,
so I pull more than needed most of the time.
(That and I have a ginormous stash of goodies I'm
CONSTANTLY trying to use).

So first up my papers.
All of the papers I chose are VERY, well, how do I put this tenderly...
old.
Really, really old.
Like some of them do not even have the strips at the bottom to
tell me where they came from,
but they are loved and are gonna get used.
I hope ;)
Oh look at the loveliness.
I mean that woodgrain...swoon.

Then I added lots of cut aparts,
because well, I have a lot of cut parts.
And since I didn't have any of the Shimelle line in this kit,
I grabbed some from a former kit of hers (I think the first one)
and will be working with them.
Plus, so many other cut aparts too.

Then last but not least the goodies.
I have several well-used and loved sticker sheets that
I am determined to get used this month.
They need out of my stash people.
It is time.
Also lots of clips, ephemera, enamels, tags, cards, and stuff.
Lots and lots of stuff.
Oh how I love kit building.

Thank you SO SO much for starting here and do please
roll right along to the remaining design team members.
They are seriously so amazing!!
Check out their kits, show them some love and get to building your own.
I can't wait to see what y'all make.
Leave me a comment and I will head over to check it out.
I will also be checking out the CKC blog all month in the linkz.
I can't wait to see what y'all make.

Next up is the amazing Lisa.  Go show sista' some love.

See you soon,

Challenge in a Good Way: Shimelle and the Selfie

So on Monday's Shimelle
will be having a new challenge up on her blog.
I am SO excited about this!!
I have really needed challenges
to get me going creatively.

Her first challenge was to make a page
with a selfie.
So I took that challenge Shimelle,
and it was so fun.
I also used old product,
really old, look at that Tim Holz goodness,
and then used Shimelle's "True Stories"
+ some Maggie Holmes
and other straight up goodnesses
from me stash.

This was a wood veneer from a kit last year,
sprayed with Heidi Swapp color shine.  =)
I LOVE her navy shine.
Oh goodness,
it is a fav!

May Flaum has really reignited my button love.

Tucked in some Maggie goodness too.

This page was SO much fun!!
Thanks Shimelle for the challenge.
Bring on Monday!! =)

Blessings,

Let's Go Places ~~ August CKC Kit

Good Morning my sweets!

I am here with my August CKC Kit.
If you'd like to know more about the above mentioned kits,
and how you can make your own...
go right HERE.
All the info you need to start making fun pages with
a kit of your own, out of your own stash.
Brilliant!

So we were to counterfeit this kit right here.
The June Globe Trotter Kit from the Snappy Canary.

So my take on that is...
"Let's Go Places"

One of my fav combos is navy and yellow.
Swoon.
So delighted to see this combo in this months kit,
so I took off from there.
I even had at least one of the papers,
the Pink Paislee chevron.
SCORE!
anyway... the kit.

Here she is all tidied up.....

Here are my papers.
Mostly they are from Shimelle's "True Stories" line.
I mean seriously,
how happy are you that she is designing?
So good!
There is a Pink Paislee, a Crate, and of course
a Maggie thrown in there for good measure.
I mean that's ALWAYS a good idea!  ;)

The original kit itself is kind of small,
but packs a punch.
So I grabbed some pack punching goodness
of mine own and tossed it right in there.
 We have Shimelle's sticker book,
Studio Calico's Seven Paper word stickers,
Pink Paislee's Atlas puffy's and a Gossamer Blue stamp set.
I mean serious goodness right there.

Swoon worthy.
Just sayin'

I LOVED that there are a few 6x6 papers thrown in the kit
as well, so yep, you guessed it, I tossed in a few of my own.
I mean look at those houses.
And envelopes, so I included the red chevron envellies
you see there and there are a few green tucked in behind.
I'd LOVE to get those babies used up.
Been space wasting in my stash far.too.long.

Then last but certainly NOT least,
I added several sheets of cut aparts,
from Shimelle's line, but also from Crate Paper,
and an older 12x12 sticker sheet from Carta Bella,
from their Hello Again line.

So there we have it!
Now time to get a scrappin'

CKC Design Team Tryout ~~ YAY!!!

Hello there!!!
So happy you are here.

has a Master Forger Search
and I was SO excited to see this.
I was on the Design team for CKC last year
and loved it so much.
So when I saw this,
I knew I wanted to try out for the team again.
These ladies are the real deal.
They are SO talented and SO much fun to work with.

So how does one apply for something like this.
Well, they have all the criteria right here
if you are interested in trying out too.

So you answer some multiple choice questions
and they send you your unique kit to
counterfeit.
And here is my criteria:
1.  Paper Choice **Please click the link to see your specific collections to copy.
2.  Tools
a. stamps
3.  Embellishments
b. washi tape
4.  Materials
a. metal
5.  Tiny bits
a. sequins
6.  More Embellishments
a. layered embellishments
7.  fun extras
c. sewing element

The papers were browns, yellows, pinks and greens.
Very pretty, and neutral.

Here are the papers I chose.
I mean seriously,
look at that Maggie Holmes cut apart.
Swoon.

A little closer look
So pretty =)

I was to use stamps and metal.
Some of my favorite stamps are older,
and I love them SO much!!!
And can you go wrong with Tim Holtz metal?
I don't think so.

I mean check out this close up.

The stamps are an old Simon Says Stamp cloud stamp
and this older MME's stamp set + this alpha set.

Lots of ephemera, labels, stickers and that cute little marshmallow.
I mean have you ever?!! =)

Some pretty little alphas.....

My beautiful washi's.

And then we were to forge at least one item to add to our kit.
I LOVE this part!!!
I decided to forge some wood veneer.
I had this very thin wafer board I had picked up
from Michaels once upon a time,
and decided to get to work.
I have this beautiful "Grateful Moment's" stamp,
so I stamped it on and cut it out and stamped it on
and cut it into a lovely square.
Then I punched a circle.
So cute!

I was also to add some sequins,
so here are my beautiful sequins and some
forged cork embellies.
I have a roll of cork and decided to get to work.
So I pulled out a fav Heidi Swapp stamp set,
and went to town.
I mean seriously look at those stars,
and those cameras.
LOVE

Then we were to issue a challenge and
make a page with our kit
using that challenge.

So what is my challenge?
4's.
I challenged myself to use fours on my page in some way.
So.....
I used a grid of 4.
4x4 picture
built my grids on the center being 4x4.
And 4 areas of embellishments.

I am currently taken a class offered by Ashli Oliver
over on her blog, right here.
It opens to the public tonight.
Oh do please check this out.
It is called Softer Side and it is really fantastic.
And a great value for your $$$.
This class, seriously,
amazing!!!

I love you 4 forever
See what I did there?

A little journaling.....and stiching.....and layering.....
and and and...
love.

OOO How I love this kit and how this page turned out.
love.

So I didn't want to stop there.
I decided to make a bonus card too.
Here is that cork in action.
I mean seriously...
seriously.

and those sequins.....

And that mist....
love.

So there you have it.
Thank you SO much for stopping by this little corner of the blog world.
And thank you for the chance to be on your amazing Design Team.
Really thank you so much!!
Y'all are simply AMAZING!!!

Blessings ~~ dawn
