Camp Scrap Challenges and Using My CKC

One of our challenges at Camp Scrap was to make a page without patterned paper.
I have decided I REALLY like my patterned paper =)
This was indeed a challenge.

I started with a cream colored card stock
and painted over it with my Tattered Angles mist
and then removed the tape.
I LOVE this look and will be doing this again.

Added some twine
attached a tag with a tiny clip

Added a banner and some letter stickers
and there we go;
done.

I used one of Shimelle's Starting Points
and absolutely loved this LO.

Detailing.....
Because after all
love is in the details.

"Oh Those Eyes"
Those beautiful, blue, gorgeous eyes!!

My beautiful man and I went on vacation in May,
and these are two pictures from that vacation.

These pictures are so serene
and I knew this would be two beautiful pictures
for my One Little Word book for this year.

I feel like I'm learning so much.
It's exciting!!

Have a beautiful crafty evening ~~

Camp Scrap + June Kit = 3 LO's

I am LOVING Camp Scrap
She is so talented and I am truly enjoying all that I'm learning in this class.

Now I am not usually one to use sketches.
I have been so intimidated by them in the past
that generally they stay right where they are,
on my computer screen,
and never make it to my LO.
But as part of a challenge for Camp Scrap,
I used a very simple LO that May gave us,
and I took off.

I used my June Baby Boy Kit,
my cute baby boy Grandbabe pics
and this sketch.....

And Voila!!!

In May's Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide
class I took earlier this year,
May used a technique that I have just come to love.
She used glossy accent over letter stickers.
I LOVE this technique!
I use it SO much.
It gives the letters such a shine.
They feel almost like an epoxy sticker.
So fun.

Add some doodle twine.....
'Nuff said =)

I added a sweet tag from my kit.....
Wrote some sweet journaling.....

Add more twine
with a fancy knot
Get out of town ~~ CUTE!!!

~~ LO #2 ~~
Here is a beautiful photo taken of my Mr. Winslow
& our Grandbabe.

This page has another element from Camp Scrap.....
May challenged us to do a Confetti Burst on our LO's.
This technique is SO fun!!

In this Confetti Burst,
I used Bling + Glossy Accents.
The Glossy Accents were quite by accident.
I was putting them on as glue for my bling and the first drop went in the wrong place.
I liked the look so much I added drops between my bling,
and the result is GREAT!!!
I did some pen work on this LO and yes more twine.
Love.

This LO was again from a sketch.
I am just loving sketches I tell ya.
Everything just looks more cohesive with a sketch.

I have been watching a lot of Shimelle videos (love her too),
and she mixes and matches letter stickers A LOT.
So I thought I'd try it on this LO.....
and I LOVE the result!!!

Here are a couple of elements I pulled out extra.
Love.

Journaling is also an area
that has intimidated me in the past.
I am now journaling on pretty much ALL my pages,
as it should be.
One must tell one's story Yes?
Yes.

So this Journaling card was actually vertical
with the black decorative strip at the top and bottom,
but I didn't have room for it vertical,
so what's a girl to do?
Cut it in half,
ink it up to match your page,
put a little washi love
down the center
and write your story.
And doing it that way,
allowed me to add journaling,
and two different thoughts about this photo
and LO on the same page.
Love.

I have a couple of smaller pieces of this lace
that has an edge sewn on it to make it a ruffle.
Well ruffle didn't work on this page,
so what's a girl to do?
Take off that strip
so it will lay flat,
ink it up to match your page and lay 'er down.
Lovely.

I am so enjoying the classes I'm taking
and the kits I'm making thanks to CKC.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge for June

NOTE:  So I realized when I posted my link,
I didn't change my title from the last time I posted a link in April.
Rookie mistake =)
So you aren't getting two cards, you are getting my June Kit.
Crazy girl.

~~

WOW!! So  I'm late getting this posted this month.
We've been in the middle of redoing a space in our home into a scrap room
this month, and guess what?
It is done!!
Well nearly =)
My Mr. Winslow is going to hang my curtain rod on the wall,
probably this evening,
and we are calling it complete.
YAY!!

So I was really excited about this challenge in particular
when I realized we could use anything we wanted
as far as color theme, etc.
At first, I wasn't as excited until I realized all that could be done with a kit like this,
and then, Yep I am PUMPED!!  =)

So I actually decided to make two kits,
but only showing one here.
(I don't have pics of the other yet).
They are a baby boy kit for my grandbabe,
and a vacation kit, since we just went on vacation in May.

So let's get to this kit shall we?  =)
Here she is.....
Isn't she a beaut?
This is the baby boy kit (of course =)

My papers are mainly from the DCWV Baby Boy paper stack,
but I have thrown in a monkey sheet (random) and an owl sheet (also random =).
I have found in making this Scrapbook Studio that I am greatly lacking
cardstock.
Now I am not greatly lacking ANYTHING else,
but I don't have a lot of basic cardstock,
but I pulled from what I had and am making it work:
blues, brown, white and cream.

The letter stickers I chose are Sassafras Lass wood grain,
and these letter stickers are included in a grandparent's sticker book.

I chose 3 stamp sets instead of two:
a cute little bubble fish with journaling room,
a birdie page, mainly for the banner,
and the ever popular, never used, fair ribbons (I have a LO in mind using these use).

For journaling:
K & W Baby Boy Tags
and also various and sundry other tags from
the DCWV stack and the other package you see here
(that I cannot think of the name =).

I pulled out borders, diet cuts, stickers, and buttons and brads, etc.

For my "messy" I chose Tattered Angels in Sunflower.

For my extra it is banner stickers and these
little Tim Holtz pins that look like vintage diaper pins.
Love.

Well there you have it.

I have already made two LO's from this kit,
and am SO excited to be scrapping from homemade kits.
I have LOTS O STUFF in my stash
and so with each kit
there will also be the addition of scraps.
I have SO many scraps.
So they are not pictured here,
but there are so very many and I want to use them up,
so I will be using them as I go.

Thanks for stopping by ~~

Dream Big

So my dear Mr. Winslow and I are working on my scrap room.
Can I get a WOOT-WOOT?!!

I am SO excited!!

We should have it moved in this weekend.

So I have not been scrapbooking much,
but been researching organizing things instead.
I am so very happy with getting things organized as I go.
This is much needed in my cottage corner of the scrapbook world.

OK, well I did however manage to squeak this page
in for "Camp Scrap" over at May's blog.

This is a page I did in my
"One Little Word"
album for 2012.

My word for this year is Grace,
and like last year,
God has given me additional
insight into the word
He chose for me.

Last year, my word was
Steadfast,
and out of that came
Gratitude,
and I made a Gratitude mini to go along with my SB last year.

Well this year,
my add on phrase is
Dream Big.

Out of God's beautiful Grace,
He has asked me to Dream Big this year.
To Believe Him for things that are bigger than my ability
to make happen.
Now isn't that what dreams are made of?

This picture was taken back in April
by a dear budding photographer friend of mine.

She just seems to capture those little, tiny moments.
She has a gift.
Love.

Then she did her little magic and this shot was born.

So for "Camp Scrap" we were to do a confetti burst,
and May did a video to walk us right on through it.
It was fantastic!!
I learn so much from her.

So I did my confetti burst on the side with my birdie
chipboard as the "anchor".

I do way more mini's than LO's,
but have decided to really start focusing more techniques on LO's,
because I have an ever-growing picture library,
and really want to record these memories.

Details:

My pic is 5x7.
I wanted it larger to really draw your eye to my gray haired part line =)
hahahaha

anyway.....

I masked, inked, sprayed and distressed.....
Put some washi love at the bottom
and added a pretty LARGE journaling block on the side,
and it just felt unfinished,
so added a couple of tim holtz flowers and
Voila!!
Done.

A little close up of bursti love.

Much Crafty Love ~~ dawn
