Let's Go Places ~~ August CKC Kit

Good Morning my sweets!

I am here with my August CKC Kit.
If you'd like to know more about the above mentioned kits,
and how you can make your own...
go right HERE.
All the info you need to start making fun pages with
a kit of your own, out of your own stash.
Brilliant!

So we were to counterfeit this kit right here.
The June Globe Trotter Kit from the Snappy Canary.

So my take on that is...
"Let's Go Places"

One of my fav combos is navy and yellow.
Swoon.
So delighted to see this combo in this months kit,
so I took off from there.
I even had at least one of the papers,
the Pink Paislee chevron.
SCORE!
anyway... the kit.

Here she is all tidied up.....

Here are my papers.
Mostly they are from Shimelle's "True Stories" line.
I mean seriously,
how happy are you that she is designing?
So good!
There is a Pink Paislee, a Crate, and of course
a Maggie thrown in there for good measure.
I mean that's ALWAYS a good idea!  ;)

The original kit itself is kind of small,
but packs a punch.
So I grabbed some pack punching goodness
of mine own and tossed it right in there.
 We have Shimelle's sticker book,
Studio Calico's Seven Paper word stickers,
Pink Paislee's Atlas puffy's and a Gossamer Blue stamp set.
I mean serious goodness right there.

Swoon worthy.
Just sayin'

I LOVED that there are a few 6x6 papers thrown in the kit
as well, so yep, you guessed it, I tossed in a few of my own.
I mean look at those houses.
And envelopes, so I included the red chevron envellies
you see there and there are a few green tucked in behind.
I'd LOVE to get those babies used up.
Been space wasting in my stash far.too.long.

Then last but certainly NOT least,
I added several sheets of cut aparts,
from Shimelle's line, but also from Crate Paper,
and an older 12x12 sticker sheet from Carta Bella,
from their Hello Again line.

So there we have it!
Now time to get a scrappin'

CKC Design Team Tryout ~~ YAY!!!

Hello there!!!
So happy you are here.

has a Master Forger Search
and I was SO excited to see this.
I was on the Design team for CKC last year
and loved it so much.
So when I saw this,
I knew I wanted to try out for the team again.
These ladies are the real deal.
They are SO talented and SO much fun to work with.

So how does one apply for something like this.
Well, they have all the criteria right here
if you are interested in trying out too.

So you answer some multiple choice questions
and they send you your unique kit to
counterfeit.
And here is my criteria:
1.  Paper Choice **Please click the link to see your specific collections to copy.
2.  Tools
a. stamps
3.  Embellishments
b. washi tape
4.  Materials
a. metal
5.  Tiny bits
a. sequins
6.  More Embellishments
a. layered embellishments
7.  fun extras
c. sewing element

The papers were browns, yellows, pinks and greens.
Very pretty, and neutral.

Here are the papers I chose.
I mean seriously,
look at that Maggie Holmes cut apart.
Swoon.

A little closer look
So pretty =)

I was to use stamps and metal.
Some of my favorite stamps are older,
and I love them SO much!!!
And can you go wrong with Tim Holtz metal?
I don't think so.

I mean check out this close up.

The stamps are an old Simon Says Stamp cloud stamp
and this older MME's stamp set + this alpha set.

Lots of ephemera, labels, stickers and that cute little marshmallow.
I mean have you ever?!! =)

Some pretty little alphas.....

My beautiful washi's.

And then we were to forge at least one item to add to our kit.
I LOVE this part!!!
I decided to forge some wood veneer.
I had this very thin wafer board I had picked up
from Michaels once upon a time,
and decided to get to work.
I have this beautiful "Grateful Moment's" stamp,
so I stamped it on and cut it out and stamped it on
and cut it into a lovely square.
Then I punched a circle.
So cute!

I was also to add some sequins,
so here are my beautiful sequins and some
forged cork embellies.
I have a roll of cork and decided to get to work.
So I pulled out a fav Heidi Swapp stamp set,
and went to town.
I mean seriously look at those stars,
and those cameras.
LOVE

Then we were to issue a challenge and
make a page with our kit
using that challenge.

So what is my challenge?
4's.
I challenged myself to use fours on my page in some way.
So.....
I used a grid of 4.
4x4 picture
built my grids on the center being 4x4.
And 4 areas of embellishments.

I am currently taken a class offered by Ashli Oliver
over on her blog, right here.
It opens to the public tonight.
Oh do please check this out.
It is called Softer Side and it is really fantastic.
And a great value for your $$$.
This class, seriously,
amazing!!!

I love you 4 forever
See what I did there?

A little journaling.....and stiching.....and layering.....
and and and...
love.

OOO How I love this kit and how this page turned out.
love.

So I didn't want to stop there.
I decided to make a bonus card too.
Here is that cork in action.
I mean seriously...
seriously.

and those sequins.....

And that mist....
love.

So there you have it.
Thank you SO much for stopping by this little corner of the blog world.
And thank you for the chance to be on your amazing Design Team.
Really thank you so much!!
Y'all are simply AMAZING!!!

You and Me and You

I am getting lots of pages scrapped with leftovers and I'm LOVING it!!!
These are the bits and pieces left over from my Cocoa Daisy
May Kit + a few enamel dots from my stash.

I found an older Shimelle LO from her 4x6 Love
series on Two Peas a long time ago,
and it was perfect for this LO.

Using the left over strips and my edge punch made
for a lovely page.

I love the simple, detailing of this page.  It just makes me happy.

And so do my girls =)

They Make me SMILE!

This was the first LO I made with the Cocoa Daisy
May kit.
And yes another grid.
LOVE this idea!

I don't have a digital die cut machine,
so when I get my little mitts on die cut
words, I'm alway SO happy!
Imagine my joy at seeing this
"Smile"!  =)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this frame.
It just makes me happy,
and made a fun little element for this grid.

And the stamp set with this kit,
was a stroke of sheer genius, I tell you.
Ashli out did herself with this one.

All these elements made for a fun
LO with my girls.

Working with the May Cocoa Daisy Kit

A few weeks ago I ordered my first ever
You see,
I have this blog friend that is on the design team,
and she is an absolutely fabulous artist!
It is the ever wonderful Ashli
over at the Purple Mailbox.
You MUST go check her out if you haven't.
This girl has skill for days!

Well, I got my May kit and knew immediately
which pictures I wanted to scrap with this kit.
Mother's Day photos.
Perfect.

The girls surprised me with a photo shoot
at the lake, complete with props.
They get me.
=)

These two beautiful are not my biological children,
but my children none the less.
I am SO thankful that God let's me be their mama.
They are just the best little girls =)

So you will notice in the above picture,
I did another take on the Camp Scrap grid
challenge.
I am LOVING this challenge SO much!!!

Grids have always been so challenging,
but I just decided to go for it.
My style has changed so much over
the last couple of years and I just feel
so much more in my element.
NO stress just fun.

So this time I did a take on the grid,
by making one of my grids a wonky basket weave,
cutting a b-side that was in 4 6x6 sections.
This is one of those cut apart.
Yes please.

Then I added some journaling on some of that
lovely paper, b side in the kit.

Added some title work
and some of those lovely buttons.

Voila!
I love you more young ones....
I love you more!

Gibbon Falls - LO #4 - CKC July Kit

Gibbon Falls in YNP is just beautiful.
When we were here 16 years ago, the rock in
the middle did not show.
It is so interesting to see the changes over these years.

I got done with this LO and it just wasn't finished,
so I found this lovely frame and embellies,
and then it felt complete.

The Heidi Swapp Lovely card is canvas,
and so easy to alter.
Add some lovely Color Shine and
voila!

This LO was a blast to make.
Took a little more time because of my indecision,
but love the end result.

LO #3 CKC July Kit

I am absolutely LOVING my July CKC Kit!
So much fun pulling it together and using
it on vacay pics.

For my journaling on this one,
I wrote in the cloud =)

I've pulled out my sewing machine
and am enjoying sewing on my LO's.
SO FUN!!!

This one came together so quickly.
Such a fun LO
of an absolutely beautiful place.

Fun with the Grid

So I am LOVING working with the grid design.
 Craft with May
and Camp Scrap is off the HOOK!!!

Loving all the fun and decided to take on the grid design again.

I saw my Tim Holtz Stencil on my desk and decided
that sunset needed to be on my page
and would be perfect for these pictures
taken at The Sunset House
in Cody, WY.

SO love frames and love to use them in my LO's.
It went just perfect with this lovely
little card =)

Our little grandson LOVED having his picture taken
with this bear =)

One of my fav little things to do when cutting down
a picture is if its a Snap Chat pic,
to take the caption off of the bottom,
cut my picture down to size,
and reattaching the caption to the bottom.
SO FUN to do!

I LOVE how this turned out.
And I am LOVING working with my
July CKC Kit.
So fun!
