Promise Standing Mini

In the first week of "Scrap Your Faith" we were also suppose to do a mini
with verses in it.

Courtney Walsh did a mini on God's Promises and it really spoke to me
to have a little mini of God's Promises in my purse.

I had purchased this little mini from Etsy,
and when it arrived it was so tiny I didn't know what I was gonna do with it.
It has been in my stash for a long time,
but this is the perfect use for it.

Here is the cover.....
I used pen stitching around my letters to make them POP!
(Something I learned in Field Guide).
I also added a banner and tied some baker's twine to it.
I love that look.

Here is a page that I really like.
I to the bottom off a tag and inked and distressed it
and then added a verse.

There are several vellum pages in this book.
To this one I added this cute flower I stacked
and added a brad to for the center.

I have been learning so many wonderful techniques.
And this particular one came from the Counterfeit Challenge blog
The "dot" in the center here is
actually hot glue put out into a little ball.
I let it dry (only takes a minute or so)
and then put it in a baggie and added some
alcohol ink to it and it lightly colored my "dot" green.
I did some blue ones too.
LOVE this cheap and easy technique.

And I LOVE this verse.
It is one of my SSMT from last year.

Oh my, this flower takes me to my happy crafty place =)
The largest flower in the background was white.
I painted it with a Mr. Huey's mist
and then layered the other flowers on with a brad in the middle.

I love adding little elements to my pages that are simple and everyday
like the staples on the acrylic ticket.
This is the first page I've ever added staples to,
but I LOVE it!!
I'll be doing this a lot more.
Now I want to get a teeny tiny stapler too =)

Some more of my little "dots".

I experimented with many different fonts while writing.
My pages are all handwritten,
but some of my pages are just a little different in the writing.
I just looked it up online and just wrote my letters a little different.
It gives the whole mini interest and depth.
LOVE.

Here is the back of the mini.
I haven't added anything to it.
It is so beautiful in all it's embossed beauty.
I may just leave it alone =)

I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at my Promise Standing mini.

Life Verse

I am currently taking "Scrap Your Faith" class
over at BPC.
I am LOVING this class!!
I signed up on the very last day that you could,
which was a week into class.
I just didn't know if I could add anything else right now,
but I decided I couldn't NOT add this class!!
And I am So glad I did!

Our first assignment was to make a "Life Verse" page in our Faith Book Albums.
So that meant I had to decide what my Life Verse was.
Now I know a lot of you have known yours for ever so long,
but for me, I love Scripture SO much, I had never really refined it to one verse in particular.
But when this assignment came, I found a verse immediately come to my mind and heart.

I gave it a little time to make sure,
and yep there was one that kept coming up.

So let me show you what my page looks like.....

There are so many details on this page.
I feel like pictures never do pages justice =)

The letters are from Pink Paislee's Mistable line.
They were originally white.
I used a technique I learned in the other class I'm taking right now,
May Flaum's Field Guide class.
It is kind of a labor intensive technique,
but I don't mind that.
I LOVE the end result SO much!!!

I started with my white letters.
Inked them with Tim Holtz distress inks in Spiced Marmalade and Concord Grape (I believe that was the purple I used) and then added Distress Stickles in purple and then coated them with Glossy Accents and sprayed them with Tattered Angels Marmalade Mist, and let them dry.
They are so pretty =)
and really accents this page nicely.

So here is the verse I chose:
Psalm 27:13-14
"I am still confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD,
be strong and take heart
and wait on the LORD."

I love this verse and it is my heart's cry.
This life is hard,
but GOD IS GOOD!!!!!
And I believe I will see His goodness in the land of the living...........
He is Good!!!
His love is enduring and His mercies are new EVERY MORNING ~~
GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS!!!!!

This is the picture I chose to use.
I don't always choose pictures on pages like this one,
but decided to use this peaceful one of the river at Hemmed-In Hollow.
Yes, this was taken on the very day we had to be rescued.
This picture has such sweet and hard and lasting memories attached to it.
We learned so much this day!!!

So there is the first page of my Faith Book.

The other assignment for last week was a mini.
I will be posting my pics of that next.
Our next assignment will be posted tomorrow ~~ EEK!!!

I haven't started on this week's yet =)
But I will!!

The next page assignment for our Faith Books is:
I Believe
Where we write out some of our Beliefs and build a page around it.
Oh yes,
I AM LOVING THIS CLASS!!!!!

Kit Cards

So I wanted to share with you two cards that I have made so far with my "kit".

The first one is a card for a young lady that is battling cancer.
She is 26 and found out around Christmas that she has a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
So this is a card that I'm going to send her and her Husband,
and I'll tuck a gift card to the movie theater inside.

The word "enjoy" are chipboard letters I distressed by sanding and inking the edges with my blue Distress
Ink Pad.
The stickers are a pack I have had for ever so long,
and am so glad to be able to use them.

Here is the inside of the card.
I liked how the ribbon looks on the inside as well.
I'm enjoying ribbon and baker's twine used like this.
It adds a pretty embellishment and also ties everything together
color wise, very nicely.

A little closer look at the detail.
I love details =)
(Why yes that is a little Mist in there to give it a shine.....
thanks for asking =)

Here is my second card.
This one I will send to my brother.
He lives about 3 1/2 hours from us and we hardly ever see him.
He's been on my heart a lot lately,
so thought I'd send him a little card to let him know I'm thinking about him.

This is a scrap of paper I had that works just famously for this.
I LOVE using up my scraps.
I have a lot of them =)

I also cut out a banner I had and looped a little baker's twine on the edge.
I love that look.
I distressed with I think Gathered Twig (love that color),
and added a little telephone sticker and button and brad on top of another scrap.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.
I tore a piece of the same paper as the corner on the front.
This ties it together so lovely.

Well, there are my first two cards so far.
I have a birthday card and also another card I'm making to have in my stash I'll share soon.

Thanks for stopping by.....

Counterfeit Kit Challenge

So I am trying something new.
The Counterfeit Kit Challenge

There are SO many kit clubs out there, but generally they are more than I want to spend.
Well the ladies over at CKC, pick a Kit for the month to shop their stash and Counterfeit.
They also post lots of fun things through the month to make your own embellies for your kits.
I love things like this.
So.....
I love the idea and thought I'd give it a try.

So here is the kit for this month.

I was SO happy with the colors.
I LOVE blue and yellow together.
So here is what I came up with.....

(Thought I'd toss in a pic of Sir Cuteness posing with the kit)
Your welcome =)

Here are the basics of my kit:
Paper and letter stickers.
I love the colors.
Now I know my kit probably looks small,
but I decided for the month of March, I would use my kit to make cards.
And that may be what I do with my kits.
I need to make and send more cards and use my stash.....
Win.....Win!  =)

Here are the embellies I picked out.....
Lots of blue and yellow.

I've already made one card yesterday that I will take pics of and post,
and already picked out some things from my "kit" to make another card today.

I am gonna love this.
It forces me to shop my stash and there are so many things that I just don't use.
It just sits around.
No more.

I hope you enjoy my SB Blog.
We are now LIVE  =)
