CKCB Blog Hop November

Welcome to the CKCB November Blog Hop.

It has been sheer joy to my heart to be the
guest designer this month.
Thanks so much for having me CKCB.

So to end my month here as GD
I thought I'd share with you two of my favorites
made from my kit this month.

First up are my girls.
Are they not just gorgeous?!!
These girls have my heart.
They are my adopted daughters and I couldn't be prouder of them.
The one with her eyes closed is the oldest and she is a RN.
And the other is starting her Master's Program
in January and will be a PA in two years.
I am so so proud of them.

This pic was taken on Arielle's (the youngest) birthday.
It is one of my favorite pics of them.

All the lovely little elements in this kit
added so nicely to the feel of this photo.
So much love!

The second one I have is a little Halloween mini.
My little Grandson and I dress up for Halloween when we are together,
and always have a grand ol time.
And I always try to make a mini book of our time together.

This year he was Ant Man and I was
Doe a Deer and we ventured to our
churches October 31st party.
It was so much fun!

I love this little page with all the cute
little candy corn.

I also made little envelopes this year to go in our book

Here we are at the end of the night,
tired but so so happy too.
He ate to much candy but that is exactly the way it should be
on Halloween right? :)

Here is a fun little element on the cover.
I recently got a fuse tool and wow is it fun!
I made this little shaker card to go on the front.
So stinkin' cute!

This is another favorite page.
This is me and my girl.
She was Ms. Captain America
with Doe a Deer.

So there you have it.
Some very fun pages from a really fun kit this month.

Okay so hop on over to Sherrie and see what loveliness she
has in store for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Many Blessings,
dawn

Love You More - Challenge #2 CKCB

Hello my friends!
Today I have a LO for Challenge #2 over
at the CKCB for November.

Challenge #2: "A Walk in the Woods
In the fall, we often take long walks in the woods
to enjoy the crisp air
and turning of the leaves.
For this challenge, let the forest be your inspiration.
Create a project inspired by the woods."

Challenge accepted! :)

When I read the challenge I KNEW the pictures I would go to.
Last summer my family and I went on vacation to
Yellowstone.
We hiked, camped and hiked some more in this
incredibly awe inspiring place.
My husband and I went on honeymoon to Yellowstone,
the summer after we were married in September 1998.
It was glorious!
So to take our grandson on such an amazing trip
was amazing.
We are planning to go again soon,
maybe even this summer ;)

This is a picture of my husband on the day
him and I snuck away and went into the
back country.  What an amazing day it was too!!

For this LO I found a birch tree cut file,
and knew I had to use it!

Ashli Oliver (AKA Soaphouse Mama)
uses a technique in her art journaling that I incorporated
here on my page with wonderful results.

NOTE:
I have taken all of Ashli's courses and learn valuable lessons
from each one.  So if you ever are looking for a
class well worth the money,
do check out my dear friend right here.

The Technique:
She writes directly on her page, but not
in any organized fashion.
She just writes what appears to be words,
but in an artsy way.
I did that here with my white Signo pen between
the birch trees.
I love the result SO much!
It gives so much interest to this LO.
Thanks Ashli for the GREAT tip!

And the journaling is tucked away on that little tag
at the top of the picture.

I have a cut file from Felicity Jane
that I LOVE SO MUCH!!!

And so I laid it on my page and I LOVE IT!!

This page was so much fun to make.
I did add just a couple things from my FJ kit as well
like the "Remember Today" title and wood veneer heart.
I like combining kits too.

Have a Super Blessed day
and thanks for stopping by,

Coffee is Food - CKC Guest Designer Challenge

I am thoroughly enjoying my time as GD for the CKC Blog this month.
I have many more pages to post
and a mini book, so be watching for that.

But today I am up on the blog with the "Favorite Meal" challenge.
So as I was thinking about this,
I got to thinking about my love for coffee.
I seriously could have a cuppa morning,
noon and night, but since that is not the best idea
I stick with mornings for the most part,
and sometimes an afternoon goodie like here,
and Monday night Bible Study,
Oh wait....yes I really like coffee. ;)

So for this LO I decided to go the route of coffee,
since it is a fav of mine, and basically a food group.

This was a particularly special day with my oldest girl
at a coffee shop about 2 1/2 hours from home.
We had Lavender coffee (yes that is a thang)
and Lavender macaroons (which is also a thang).
Oh my it was so good and pretty.
See...

I tend to be very linear in my LO's.
I'm trying to break out of that,
so I added circles,
and hearts,
in a linear fashion.
Haha
Its just the way I roll.

#comfortfood indeed

And there you have it.
Comfort food at its finest,
in the form of ye olde coffee bean ;)

Thank you for stopping by,
and stay tuned for more to come this month.
Oh yes, I'd love to kill this kit.
Let's see how far I get.

Blessings,
dawn

Hello November

Happy November Y'all!!
I love the fall and I love November.
I am such a fan of Thanksgiving,
yes I do love the food,
but most of all I love my family,
and taking time to be thankful and this November
is getting started off just right.

I received an email about a month ago
asking if I'd like to be the guest designer
for the month of November.
I was so excited and so honored to be apart of this great
team again.  It has been awhile.

So Hi!
I'm just thrilled as punch to be here.
(I don't even know what that means, but still ;) )

The kit this month is the amazing "City Park" kit from
Cocoa Daisy.  It is just lovely.

So I have been building kits from my stash for ever so long,
and what I have discovered for me is that it is best
to work with a good sized kit with several choices.
I like a good sized kit.
I do reserve the right to pull from my stash,
but try to stay within the confines of the kit,
so I pull more than needed most of the time.
(That and I have a ginormous stash of goodies I'm
CONSTANTLY trying to use).

So first up my papers.
All of the papers I chose are VERY, well, how do I put this tenderly...
old.
Really, really old.
Like some of them do not even have the strips at the bottom to
tell me where they came from,
but they are loved and are gonna get used.
I hope ;)
Oh look at the loveliness.
I mean that woodgrain...swoon.

Then I added lots of cut aparts,
because well, I have a lot of cut parts.
And since I didn't have any of the Shimelle line in this kit,
I grabbed some from a former kit of hers (I think the first one)
and will be working with them.
Plus, so many other cut aparts too.

Then last but not least the goodies.
I have several well-used and loved sticker sheets that
I am determined to get used this month.
They need out of my stash people.
It is time.
Also lots of clips, ephemera, enamels, tags, cards, and stuff.
Lots and lots of stuff.
Oh how I love kit building.

Thank you SO SO much for starting here and do please
roll right along to the remaining design team members.
They are seriously so amazing!!
Check out their kits, show them some love and get to building your own.
I can't wait to see what y'all make.
Leave me a comment and I will head over to check it out.
I will also be checking out the CKC blog all month in the linkz.
I can't wait to see what y'all make.

Next up is the amazing Lisa.  Go show sista' some love.

See you soon,
dawn
