Journaling, Camping & Scrappin'

I love the CHRISTmas season!!

I love celebrating the birth of our Savior with my family!!!

*****

There are so many fun and exciting things going on in December,
and one started today and one starts tomorrow.
started today.

And the challenge for today was to make something in 30 mins.
So I completed the first part of our Advent Calendar this year.

I bought the kit from Cassie over at Paper Issues on Etsy,
and then ran wild with it.

I mounted it on a 12x12 cork board and added tags.
Simple.
Love.

Here are some lovely details.
I cut a wide strip of paper and put it in the center,
and added lots of sequins, stars, washi and a button.

I stamped each tag with a fun Christmas stamp,
and on this one I colored it in with my distress markers.
What a fun bit of whimsy this is =)

On this one, I colored the stamp
with the Distress Markers,
blew on it,
and stamped.
I LOVE the results and will be doing this more.
I wasn't to sure at first,
but it worked just beautifully.

I added washi and twine to each tag,
coordinating with the row (top red, bottom green),
and edged each one with Vintage Photo.

*****

Tomorrow starts a new venture for me.
I signed up for Journal Your Christmas..... JYC byt Shimelle.

So I did some prep.
I didn't go crazy with prep.
Kept it pretty simple.
But I have lots of things ready to go.....
embellies, paper cut, and a heart ready to journal.

This is some patterned paper I made on kraft with some snowflake stamps.
I LOVE the way this turned out.
And it was fun, easy play.
Love that.

I did some embossing on pages for my journal.
Check out this little guy.
I'm giddy.

I stamped and cut and now I'm ready to journal on these cards.
I'm ready to ink and write.

I've made LOTS of tags to go in my journal.
Here is just a sampling.

Numbers are inked up and ready.....
well at least through 25.
So I still have a few to go =)

I've been working on getting my desk cleaned off and ready for all Christmas for the month
of December.
So letter stickers are getting put away,
and more letter stickers are being put out.

I've been punching snowflakes and confetti.
Fun.

I'm having so much fun working on Christmas paper fun.
And tomorrow starts JYC!!
I'm so ready.

What are you working on in December?

Snappy, Hearts and CKC Fun!!

Glitter Girl last week tackled using items like the
Snappy collection by Simple Stories,
but using it not on Project Life type projects.
I love these products, but have struggled with how to use them.
So Glitter Girl shone some light on how to use them,
and I ran with it.
And honestly, this came together SO quickly.
Love that.
I love these two boys so!

And Sir Cuteness got in on the act.
I added some polka dots on my letters,
and he decided that we needed to
"connect the dots" =)
So we did!
I LOVE that he helped me on this.
It gives that page so much character and charm,
don't ya think?

this week,
its all about hearts.
This is the second challenge I've done there.
I really enjoyed this one!
I used my Hambly vellum and lots of Simple Stories love.
This has so many details of funness!!

I mean seriously look at this heart journaling.
Love this LO challenge.

All of these LO's were done with my November CKC.

I added sequins to this one and lots of pen work.

I used the hexagon shapes cut apart.
They gave such good visual interest to the page, yes?
Me likey.

So I finished up my November kit today.
WOW!!!  How exciting!!
Well I finished using the paper in my main kit.
I still have lots of stickers and embellies,
and after the first of the year will use them to finish up some fall pictures
and Thanksgiving.
Fun!!

Skissedilla Challenge

For the first time, I am participating in the Skissedilla challenge.
I have done other sketches of theirs,
but never got them up in time.

They have some GREAT sketches.
Like this one this week.

This is my take on this fantastic sketch.

Some details.
I love me some twine,
some rolled twiney goodness.
Oh yes + Pen work = lovely details.

And oh the letters.....
I just LOVE mistable letters.
I misted these with black Glimmer Mist.
And some more pen work underneath my letters.
Nice.
I likey.

This was a LO about one of the funnest days we had this fall.
We took our grandbabe to a local pumpkin patch/corn maze.
It was a beautiful day!

Thank you for checking out my LO.
And go visit Skissedilla
and check out the other loveliness over there.

2 More LO's for November CKC ~~ YAY!!!

So, have I mentioned how much I have LOVED my November kit?
I mean seriously.....
this has probably been my favorite so far!

Well, I have 2 more LO's to add to the plethora of LO's this month.
So productive =)  YAY!!!

So here is our precious Sir Cuteness.
He is our four year old grandbabe that LOVES to fish.
I mean L-O-V-E-S to fish!!
This pic is of our recent fishing trip on a day PaPa took off just to hang with us.
It was a splendid day.
He has the BEST PaPa.....
I have the BEST Husband.....

So on this page I decided to use my new Perfect Pearls.
(Yes I do realize PP is NOT new, only new to me, but I LOVE IT!!)
It gave this page a very artsy feel.
That plaid paper was some of my scraps that I had already punched circles
out of, so I just used the negative portion and added circles to it.
I love using things that I used to would have thrown away.
Stretch that stash, I say =)
Anyway, after some title work, washi tape, and some pen action
I called it good.

Then on this page, this pic taken the same day.
I did two different finishes on the same pic and added both to this LO.
This is a fav technique of mine.
So much visual interest.

Then the title, Oh the title!
Back when I was just really getting into paper crafting love,
and well before I had a studio
(thank you my fabulous hubby!)
I found a stack of chipboard letters on sale for $5.00!
And by stack, I mean a ginourmous stack I am still using today!
I really didn't know what I was getting =)
Well, I got them home and started playing with them,
and soon became overwhelmed and frustrated,
(they are NOT self adhesive).
Well once I finally figured out the best way to adhere,
I love them!
One of the things I love most is that you can sand them
and give them this great vintage "old" look to them.
LOVE THAT!!
And on this page it is the perfect title.
I added some leaf brads that I had in my stash.
Some bling that I got in the $1 bin at Wal-Mart,
(yes that is possible)
some twiney love in the form of the curvy line
and circles (another fav technique =).
Added journaling and ribbon and
Ta-Da!!
Done.

WOW!!  I have gotten so much use out of this kit.
In fact, I may be out of 12x12's on this one.
I've never used a kit quite this thoroughly!
I may do an add on of paper and keep going as I have a
fun day at the Pumpkin Patch still to scrap from this fall,
but I find myself elbows deep in Christmas!!
How fun!!!

I'm getting my JYC ready
and having SO much fun doing that.

But I may get to one of two more LO's before I call this done.
Maybe.
I hope.
Anyway.....

November CKC LO's ~~ Still Lovin this Kit!!!

This kit is making me so happy!!!
Lots of fun.

PaPa (My Mr. Winslow) took a Friday off of work this fall a few
weeks ago to take our precious Sir Cuteness fishing.
It was one of those special days.
You know the kind.....
Sun was shining.....
the weather was beautiful.....
I packed PB&J along with Penguin snacks (goldfish)
and lots of gummies,
Gatorades,
and we were off for a day at the river.

It was just one of those perfect days.
A day we will remember.....
A day captured in pictures.....

Here is Sir Cuteness and his PaPa.....
I love this picture.

You all know I love me some details,
so here is a cute little fishing line complete with fishes on this page.
So fun!!!
And easy.....

Here is a LO with pictures taken on voting day.
I am thankful to live in a country where I am free to vote.....
Vote my conscience.....
And this page went just perfectly with this LO.
I love the colors!!

And back to a little detail from the fishing page.....
How about some confetti love in the corner.....
Yep.....perfect.
Just like this particular day.
Beautiful.  Perfect.  Lovely.

Oh and a little update on JYC or DD?
I decided to go with JYC.
And I am working on getting papers cut and my album started,
so I will be ready come December 1.

I've used so much of my kit this month,
and hopefully I will get a few more pictures done,
but Christmas season is so close,
I'll be mist deep in all this Christmas,
so we will see =)

Layout Love Linky ~~ The Halloween Mini Edition

I love me some Layout Love Linky!
Ashli at The Purple Mailbox hosts this terrific linky each month.
Please visit her right here and lay some love on her will ya?
She is just the best of scrapbookers!

So for this edition I wanted to show you my Halloween mini.
I started making Sir Cuteness a Halloween mini last year,
and he just loves it!
So this year I wanted to carry on the tradition.
He loves for me to dress up with him,
and so I, of course, obliged my sweet gbabe!

Here is my cover page all decked out with some confetti love.....

This book pretty much, like last year, centers around the library party.
Sir Cuteness and I,
or should I say Tom and Jerry,
all painted up and ready to go =)
The journaling stamp I won on another blog over the summer,
and I love it!!
Also the houndstooth tissue is the signature
tissue from Paper Issues.
I love that etsy store.
Love.

I love this boy so!!

A little Tim Holtz love on this one.....

I do love me some details.....

This page was so fun.....
I know you can't see it,
but I heat embossed the spider on this page with the tags.
And another journal stamp on the center tag.

I love this boy so!!!
I love the expression on his face.
He'd just made the pumpkin match =)

Thank you for visiting my little part of LLL
and thank you Ashli for hosting.
You are a joy!!

CKC November Project & Glitter Girl Adventure

So this is a little different November Kit Project.
Let me explain.....

Over at Two Peas, Glitter Girl has a challenge this week
to make a Christmas page without using any Christmas collection papers.

What a GREAT Challenge!!!

So what's a girl to do?
Well first, pick your picture,
and what a special memory picture this is.

Then a girl should go to her CKC ,kit for November and see what she can make work.
So I went to my Simple Stories Harvest Lane papers and looked to see if maybe
I had a "B" side of something that would work,
and lo and behold,
there is a deep red, like a brick red polka dot on the back of the floral print,
and so it came out on my desk.
Then I grabbed a green cardstock from my kit, and started there.
I took my cardstock and got messy.
I used some Jenny Bowlin paint and my Mr. Huey's Mask
and took to maskin'
I loved that result,
so I added some Mr. Huey's Calico White,
and then started layering and adding all kinds of goodies.
I did pull out a couple of papers not in my kit,
but would work well on this page.
Then title and even part of it is from Simple Stories Harvest Lane,
and then added some white letters as well.

Then added twine and there we go.

I have some very fun pages coming (not Christmas =).
This kit has been my most fun and productive yet.

I am just loving this productivity!!!

CKC November LO's

I am LOVIN' this November kit!!

I love all the colors of Fall,
and this kit really shows off those colors.
YAY!!!

So this first page is a page I misted using my new Mister
Huey's mask.
I have never used one like this, so this was fun.
Not perfect.
Have some practicing to be doing,
but I do love the way it turned out on this page.

The title says "Wearing the Chair"
made with Thickers I got on clearance because they were coming off of the package.
Easy peasy.....just add a little adhesive to the back as you put them on the page...
cheap and easy!

The washi you see in the corner and on this tag,
I designed completely out of the washi,
is actually washi that malfunctioned.
It stopped sticking.
Weird eh?
So I just add adhesive to the back and keep going.
I love this tape!
And the tag turned out so cute.
Loved it!
And the pictures of my gbabe = PRICELESS!!!

What a fun page this is.....
Sir Cuteness and I were playing with his Waldo glasses from his Wendy's Kid's Meal =)
As I am looking at this page,
I am realizing there is no title.
Funny thing, I kept wondering what it was missing =)
I shall fix that!

OOOO pretty!!
I love this page!!!
This is a page made about our "Designed for Life" Women's Conference
at church this year.
It was life changing and a beautiful time with the LORD!!!
Priscilla Shirer brought it DOWN!!

Things I love about this page:
the vellum strip down the middle.
The flowers feel velveety.
Love that.
The flowers:  O the flowers.
These were cut with my THoltz die using a pretty paper scrap (really old)
and corrugated cardboard.
Love.
Yep and lots of washi to frame the journaling.

I love these boys so!!!
My sweet man, Mr. Winslow,
and our beautiful, exciting gbabe Sir Cuteness.
It just doesn't get ANY better than this!!
This was such a fun evening.
It was the first time that Sir Cuteness had shot his new bow.
SO FUN!!

I love details.  It is the way I scrapbook.
This page has lots of little details.
And on this one, I used the wording on the border strip
at the bottom as my title.

So there we are for now.
I have some more to show soon =)

YAY!!! YAY!!!! YAY!!!!! November CKC!!!

Note:  I have a question at the end of this picture heavy post,
so please read the end as well and help a sista' out =)
Thanks ever so much.....

Now on the the challenge =)

I am SO excited for this month's challenge!!
I must say, I didn't even really care what it was,
I WAS IN!

I have been absent from CKC for the past couple months
because of such a busy schedule,
but I am so pumped to be back!

And with such a great kit!!

Lots to choose from this month,
I picked Simple Stories Harvest Lane
to counterfeit this month.

I already had some papers and elements for it,
and have SO many fun fall pages to get to scrappin'
that I knew this would just be the perfect one for me this month.

So without further ado....
My papers are:

3 Simple Stories Harvest Lane
4 Fancy Pants Summer's End

5 Sheets Cardstock:
2 Brown
2 Green
1 White
1 Hambly Screen Prints Transparency
Bo Bunny Forever Fall

Simple Stories Harvest Lane Alphas
Simple Stories Sticker Sheet
Summer's End Border Strip
Some Scraps from the Stash =)

Yummy DIY Tags + Lovely Etsy Tags =)
Die Cut Hearts
DIY Journaling Spots
Punched Out Butterflys

Negative Die Cut Flower
with a green background (that I will straighten up & glue down =)

I won this journaling stamp set back in the summer,
so I'm definitely putting this to use this month.

Here is said journaling stamp in action.
Stamped, even some embossing,
and  the one on the bottom right
I messed up on, but I'm still gonna try to use it.
We shall see =)

Misc. die cuts, borders, journaling spots and all around loveliness.....

More journaling spots and an etsy find that I've had in my stash
for ever so long.  I took apart the mini and am using it in this month's kit.

So there you have it.....
my CKC for November.

Now a question:
Do y'all do Daily December or Journal Your Christmas
or a combo of the two or something completely different?

And do you put together a kit?

I want to get the basics done this month, but need a little direction.
Thanks so much!
