Grateful Mini Blog Hop

Welcome to the Member Blog Hop at CKCB.
You should have come over from the lovely Valerie.

The challenge was to make a Grateful Mini.
I just LOVE making mini's,
but I usually need a reason to make one.

Well this challenge came at a great time,
because I was doing a swap through Monica's
The Homespun Heart.
And our topic this time was on being Grateful.

I had the sweetest swap partner I've ever gotten in a swap,
and so I was really looking forward to making her
a little something something.

She is a fellow scrapbooker and loves homemade lovelies.
So I bought a little Maya Road mini,
and got to work.

Here is the cover.....
A Little Birdie Told me.....

to be.....
(a little heat embossed heart action right there) =)

Thankful.
A Banner, Thickers, Epoxy Heart and Flowers,
please.....
every day of the week!  =)
(And of course Maggie)

I used a Maggie Holmes
yes my BFF =)
6x6 paper pad by Crate.

I used up a lot of older stash,
and also some envelopes and tags.....

Oh these papers.....
they get me every time!  =)

I added lace, and tissue flowers.....
Some flair and heat embossed flower.....

Tags and Brads.....

I made sure she had plenty of spots for photos.....

And journaling.....

I was so very grateful to make a new friend.....
My Blessed swap partner Angie.

So grateful.

And this is the back inside cover.

This little mini was so fun to do.
I love pouring into a project like this.
My heart is so very full in these projects.
I truly am so grateful!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Now please go to the beautiful Cindy
and see what she has made.

And just in case you get lost along the way:

Mother's Day Mini ~~ Layout Love Linky

So for Layout Love Linky this month
over at Ashli's blog,
I wanted to show some of the mini Sir Cuteness
and I made for his mama for Mother's Day.

Him and his mama had pictures taken last fall
by a friend of hers who is studying photography.
These pics are SO great!!!
And thought it might be nice to get them in a mini for her for
Mother's Day.

I used mainly Amy Tan and also Simple Stories Vintage Stories lines.
That little arrow in the corner Sir Cuteness wanted on there.
He punched it out with a punch that I got at a garage sale last
weekend.  (I seriously hit the scrapbook jackpot this weekend
at garage sales.  WOW!!!)

The way this mini came together was that I put the picture on one side
and then on the other a saying or rub-on and some artisicality.
Is that a word?
anyways..... =)

This was the song that his mama sang to him all the time when he was
a wee-babe.
I was so very happy when I saw this in the collection.

Sir Cuteness had so much say to what when in this book.
He balled up the thread and wanted to use it in the mini,
so I put a little bling in the middle and it looks like a beautiful
flower to me.  So pretty.

Some misting.....
Some fussing cutting.....
Some banners.....
Some popping.....
Yep, sure did.

This page I put on Instagram and it is one of my fav's.
This paper is an Authentique.
Love.

And I LOVE these bingo cards from Simple Stories.
All the bingo cards from Simple Stories.
LOVE THEM.

Here is the same picture from above,
just a little different finish on the picture.
Love it.

A little Heidi Swapp masking love!
And a Prima key and some Studio Calico kraft hearts.
Love.

This is one of my fav pictures.
The way she is looking at him.
Priceless.

This is a rub-on that I love.
Such a beautiful and simplistic page.
Some times simple is powerful.
Elegant.
Love.

Oh this boy.
LOVE these Maggie Holmes fabric frames.
And this boy.
Oh this gorgeous boy!!!

Then this little beaut, Sir Cuteness wanted to include this little picture.
This is his first fish.
He wanted his mama to have this picture.
This is a paper from the Lucky Charm Collection from American Crafts,
And then the "grass" is a Heidi Swapp banner,
but instead of misting it,
Sir Cuteness wanted to paint it.
I LOVE IT!!!
Instant grass!!

Here is a little note Sir Cuteness wanted me to write for him.
And then most of the other elements on this little journal tag
are rubons.
The "Love You" is a stamp.
So sweet.

And here is the grand finale!!
Sir Cuteness wanted lots of stars on this page.
And these stars are some more garage sale goodies from the weekend.
Yep it was a good garage sale weekend =)

And then I made a little card from the left over's.
I am not a card maker, but this was fun to do.
I helped Sir Cuteness write his name inside.
So sweet.

This mini was so fun, but especially having Sir Cuteness help.
It was indeed priceless.

I love being able to share art with him.
He is developing quite an eye for art and color.
He's four.
So great!

I hope y'all have a great day ~~

Promise Standing Mini

In the first week of "Scrap Your Faith" we were also suppose to do a mini
with verses in it.

Courtney Walsh did a mini on God's Promises and it really spoke to me
to have a little mini of God's Promises in my purse.

I had purchased this little mini from Etsy,
and when it arrived it was so tiny I didn't know what I was gonna do with it.
It has been in my stash for a long time,
but this is the perfect use for it.

Here is the cover.....
I used pen stitching around my letters to make them POP!
(Something I learned in Field Guide).
I also added a banner and tied some baker's twine to it.
I love that look.

Here is a page that I really like.
I to the bottom off a tag and inked and distressed it
and then added a verse.

There are several vellum pages in this book.
To this one I added this cute flower I stacked
and added a brad to for the center.

I have been learning so many wonderful techniques.
And this particular one came from the Counterfeit Challenge blog
The "dot" in the center here is
actually hot glue put out into a little ball.
I let it dry (only takes a minute or so)
and then put it in a baggie and added some
alcohol ink to it and it lightly colored my "dot" green.
I did some blue ones too.
LOVE this cheap and easy technique.

And I LOVE this verse.
It is one of my SSMT from last year.

Oh my, this flower takes me to my happy crafty place =)
The largest flower in the background was white.
I painted it with a Mr. Huey's mist
and then layered the other flowers on with a brad in the middle.

I love adding little elements to my pages that are simple and everyday
like the staples on the acrylic ticket.
This is the first page I've ever added staples to,
but I LOVE it!!
I'll be doing this a lot more.
Now I want to get a teeny tiny stapler too =)

Some more of my little "dots".

I experimented with many different fonts while writing.
My pages are all handwritten,
but some of my pages are just a little different in the writing.
I just looked it up online and just wrote my letters a little different.
It gives the whole mini interest and depth.
LOVE.

Here is the back of the mini.
I haven't added anything to it.
It is so beautiful in all it's embossed beauty.
I may just leave it alone =)

I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at my Promise Standing mini.

Much Crafty Love ~~ dawn
