A Momma and Her Boy.....

Last fall Sir Cuteness and his mommy took pictures in the park.
They were SO good!
They are the kinda of pics that you just continue to use.

I love this watercolor style PP
from my CKCB kit.
I added some of my own water color to frame the pics,
then went to town.

I added lots of word stickers here and there,
and added some Simple Stories Bingo goodness.

And lots and lots of butterflies sewn right up the side.
I find that a great design element used over and over
in a pattern works so well on a simple page.
It adds a pop of goodness without overpowering the
simplicity of the page.

Love.

So there we have it.
Another page down.
Simple, yet beautiful.

Monochromatically Speaking

So every once in a while,
I have a month that I just can't
seem to get it together.
October has been one of those months.
It seems that it looks as though I have taken
the month off.
Not so.
But it does appear that way.
I have done some LO's
and cleaned and rearranged my studio space,
and purged some OLD things out.
Yep it has been a productive month,
just not here on ye ole blog.
But all that is about to change as
I have four LO's to feature toward the end
of the month,
and our new kits will be up on Friday,
SO excited about that!
So LOTS of fun stuff happening.
Let's get to it.....

This bit of loveliness is pulled together
from my CKCB October Kit.

My FAV coffee spot turned 5 the 24th of September,
and they had a special evening of free coffee and pastries,
ANY free coffee and ANY pastry.
AMAZING!!

I took this pic on the way out the door.
And then when it came time to get this on a LO,
I chose to go mono.....
.....chromatic that is.

I NEVER do monochromatic LO's.
I really LOVE the way this turned out though.
I may have to do this again.....
ohhhh with green.....
or yellow.....
or blue.....
or white..... OH dreamy white!
So many possibilities!!

Let me just say, my hair is NOT this red/purple.
It's the filter I used, but it's fun to go a funky color
even if it is just in a filter  =)
I am a brunette.
But red was fun.
Ok at least in a pic it is.

And these letters.....
They were a VERY pale pink that didn't go with
anything pink on this LO.
They were dull.
That was the biggest issue with them,
because the rest of this LO has a nice glimmer to it.
So what's a girl to do?
Well pull out Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Primrose
of course, and spray the dickens out of them!
Let them dry and spray again.
And do this over a 2 day period,
and you get a nice depth of color.
It looks red here.
It is not.
It is the most beautiful shiny depth of pink.
Love.

This 5 is all glittered out and it is from Thickers.
All I did was stick on the page.
No alterations needed.

Then I put a lone Maggie Holmes (yes, my BFF =)
chipboard sticker.
All by it's lonesome, and generally I would add
a buddy, but I put it on top of a polka dotted heart
stamped goodness.
And decided no buddy needed.
Love.

This red hair.....
cracks.me.up.
anyway.....
Look at this puffy sticker goodness.
Love.
And why yes that is more Maggie Holmes
goodness.
Love.
And several frames.
Yummmy.

So that's it.
Lots of yummy goodness in pink.
This page was fun.
Thanks for stopping by.

Grid Me - CKCB Challenge #3

Well hello there!!
Today is Challenge #3 over on the CKCB
and it is all things grid.

Now when I was first given this challenge,
I thought, Hmmm...... what do I do with this?
You see, when I use grids it is quite by accident.
I don't sit at my desk and think,
"I'm going to use a grid for my background today."
Nope.  I'm more of a fly by the seat of my pants
kinda gal.  If I see it and it makes me smile then
grid or not, that's my background.
I know, my system is mind boggling =)

So for this one, I pulled out some grids.
Honestly didn't even know if I had any,
but I did.
But it wasn't jumping out at me.
So I looked over on my desk
and to what do my wandering eyes appear?
Maggie Holmes of course.
My BFF.
Just sayin'

anyway.....

This lovely was staring at me.

So I set about using it as inspiration.
So mine certainly isn't of the perfection kind,
but it is of the mine kind,
and I love it!

I drew my grid using a ruler,
but as you can see, not exact.
A little haphazardly.

This is a picture from our vacation last year.
It is a dark picture of me holding up our supper
we'd just caught.
I need to go back in and edit some of these shots
to lighten them up a bit, but I just LOVE this shot.
dark and all.
I remember how I felt holding this up.
Amazing!!

I decided tto go with a very simple color combo:
Black, White & Yellow
Love it.
This little beaut was in my Maggie Holmes (BFF)
chipboard stickers.  LOVE IT!

Who Knew?  I liked to fish?!!

And I also REALLY liked the whole thing vintaged out
like only Rhonna's app can do.
Love it!

Well thank y'all for stopping by and I hope you will do something
with your own grid design, and when you do, please link up.
We'd LOVE to see it!!

CKCB October Kit

Welcome to the CKCB October Blog Hop.
If you are following the hop, then you are
here from the amazing Angela's  blog.
If you just stopped by, howdy and you may want to head back to
CKCB and start following along from the beginning.

So this month our kit to counterfeit is the fabulous
September kit from Cocoa Daisy.
Look at this bit of lovely.....

So for my  kit I pulled out one sheet from the actually kit,
that lovely navy floral that I LOVE.
And then 3 sheets from Maggie Holmes new line for
Crate Paper, Flea Market.
I LOVE THIS LINE.
So pretty.  I mean seriously look at
the Bokeh hearts!!
And that painted fence and the
chevron wood grain.....beautiful.
Then I pulled out 3 from Alison Kreft for Webster's Pages....
the book paper (back from a previous kit), the bicycles, and
the camera's.  Such a fun take on a camera sheet.
Then the clouds you see here is from Kaiser Kraft and something
I've had in my stash and really want to get used.
Beautiful papers.

Then my cardstock.
Yes that is a piece of cork paper
from Echo Park, Note to Self.
LOVE IT.

For the cut out sheets, I again turned to Maggie.
I tell ya, we could be BFF's.
anyway.....
The three cut aparts you see here are from her new
Flea Market line.  Gorg!!
And then I threw in this map sorta, kinda cut apart sheet.
I'm really thinking about keeping it as is and using it as a
PP for a background and not cut it apart.
Hmmmm..... we shall see how this goes.

Oh Maggie, Maggie.....
Chipboard stickers from her latest line (Flea Market)
look at that deer....be still my heart,
and her previous line, both from Crate.
They go so well together.
I mean seiously.... Look at these colors.

A little close up.....
yummy.

I added some frames, from yes Maggie
(we're on a first name basis now ya know =)
and Pink Paislee, some Tim Holtz tiny paper clips,
since I didn't have any of those cute little camera
paper clips, I thought I'd toss these beauts in.
And here is a tag from the cut aparts.
See anything interesting?

I cut a circle from the tag above and from some others
on the cut apart and made some flair.
Easy Peasy and oh so cute!
The little ones were made with hot glue.
I need to trim them a little better,
but aren't they sweet.  They were a little tricky,
and I didn't know if I would use them at first,
but I love them.  They'll find their way on a page.
Certainly.

So there you have it.  My kit for October.
Now head on over to the gorgeous Jemma to see what she is up to
with this kit.
