Strawed

Well now.....here is a page that I just LOVE!!
This boy, cracks.me.up.

We were coming back from Braum's (although in my journaling I say Sonic,
but it was Braum's.....silly me =)

anyway.....

We were just talking away and all the sudden he stopped talking and I looked
back in my rearview mirror and this is what I saw:
Hahahaha ~~ cracks.me.up. I tell you!!

So this paper was in my CKC July Kit and I thought I'd use it for a girly
LO with the Lovely Miss A, BUT when I saw this picture and the pop of color
this straw provides, I decided to run with it.  Even though this is a boy LO.
Who says a girl can't add some pink =)

I took a sketch from Shimelle's 4x6 photo love from a few years ago,
and used it for my LO.
I had some old what ever these are, =) and thought I'd get them on this
page.
Love.

And more.....And some more elements from my kit with these word
banners.....
That little tag tucked in there is something I did in the Claudine Hellmuth's
Technique Toolbox class.
Love it!!

And as I looked at this LO on the screen, I'm realizing I didn't
put a title on this baby.
I shall call it "Strawed" and the title will go just above the
picture.
Yes that needs to happen =)

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Sick Flowers

So this is a continuation of my LO's from spine surgery earlier
this year.  My husband's work sent this lovely bouquet of
flowers to our home on the Saturday I got home from the
hospital.  It was an unexpected surprise and the flowers
were gorgeous!

So I started this LO COMPLETELY different, but didn't
like it AT ALL!!!  Too much pink and purple, so I started
over with a Heidi Swapp paper that I misted imperfectly
black.  And loved it.

I added some elements from my CKC July Kit and started
putting this baby together.

I love the black/grey with the purple and pops of pink.....

This lovely banner is from Heidi Swapp again that I misted
a couple different shades do make a lovely purpley color.
Added a little flair, some pins and a bow.

Oh this lovely little Pebbles flower.
Cutey Cute.

Then the title.....
I decided to mix it up with placement.
I boxed them in =)

I just loved how simple this page looks.
I'm so glad I started over.
The other page was just a conundrum of crazy, I tell you!!

Thanks for stopping by..... And

Celebrate Good Times. Come On.... Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

So I always look at the challenges every week over at SSS through
Ashli's blog, and even participate sometimes, BUT it seems that
I never get my pics of said completed challenge project done,
and before I know it is Monday again, and my project didn't
make it up on their blog.

SO, I am challenging myself to doing these challenges every Monday,
AND get them up on the SSS blog.....starting THIS week.

So here we go.....
=)
The challenge this week is "Celebrate".
When I make a page about a celebration,
I rarely like to do a page LOADED with the overall topic
of celebration, like say a birthday.

I might go with the color scheme of the party,
or the style of something like that, but RARELY will you
see a very overt celebration page from me.
It stems from my early days of scrapbooking
where EVERYTHING I did seemed to be very themed.
BUT I made an exception, sort of, for this page and
this topic.

I did a VERY themed 4th of July page as far as product
is concerned, but what you will find missing, are the very
themed 4th of July photos of fireworks, cookouts
and sparkler pics.

You see this 4th, my man and I ventured out on an
adventure in the wild.  Complete with backpacks and
tent, we decided to go on a little trip in the woods to the
lake.  Now the plan was to find fireworks at the lake of
course, but we never found the lake.
We're cool like that.
Instead, we took a wrong turn and ended DEEP in
snake and tick country.  Luckily we saw no snakes,
but the ticks nearly carried us off!!!

anyway.....

We saw no fireworks, ate peanut butter (for him),
almond butter (for me) and crackers for supper,
and turned in early and listened to the fireworks
just across the hill from us, that we couldn't seem to find.
Again with the coolness.
I know.  =)

So when I saw the topic this week, I pulled out my
CKC July Kit and used just a couple embellies from it,
pulled out my Twopeas July Printables, some Pink Paislee paper
that I got on clearance at my LSS, because it  was last
years line, a crackle tag I made in Claudine Hellmuth's
Technique Toolbox class, and the inside of Sir Cuteness'
poppers, and went to town.
Oh yes and three pics from our very unorthodox 4th of July.
Yes, it is the way we roll.

I fussy cut pinwheel like goodness.....
Added a "celebrate" sticker from my kit.....
Added that printable.....
Made me a banner.....
And mists.....
Oh sweet fireworks those mists.....

Some Simple Stories Title Goodness.....
with a little improvisation on the "B".....
=)

There's that lovely popper goodness.....
and that tag.....
Oh that tag.....

Some more fussy cutting of the chevron....
Some bling.....
And called her good.

This page was SO much fun to do!!!!!
I'm so glad I preserved these memories and got to
use some lovely 4th of July papers.

Celebrate Good times y'all =)     Come on!!
And play along at SSS.  It is so much fun!!!

I hope you have a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty Kind of Day ~~

Member Blog Hop -- Master Forger Challenge

Well hello.  And Welcome to the Member Blog Hop
for CKCB.  You should have come here from the lovely

This month for the Member Blog Hop we were to take
inspiration from a Master Forger.  For my first take on
this challenge you can see that here.

For the Member Blog hop I saw this lovely LO on the amazing

So I tackled that LO with these lovely pics from a beautiful
summer's day with two of my favorite fella's.  These two have
my heart.

I loved the layering on the original LO and wanted to make
sure I got some lovely layering on my own version.

The green and yellow paper is a sheet that Sir Cuteness
painted himself.  I LOVE IT!!  And thought it went very
well on a LO including pictures of Sir Cuteness himself.
One day he will cherish this page with some of his own
handiwork on it.  LOVE IT!

I love these pinwheels.
I just added some lovely MME brads.

This sun just makes me happy.
Happy I tell you!  =)

Flair and buttons, bling and twine.
Yes!

Some more pinwheel action.

Then I decided with all the scraps that I have left from
my July kit, I decided some cards would be lovely.
I am not a card maker, but again the lovely Lisa
inspired me with her beautiful cards, like this one.

So I started working on some lovely cards.

Oh those pearls.

And again with those terrific large sequins making a scallop.
Love.

A nice fall card.

Beautiful chevron.

And just a little stamping.

Working on this hop has been SO much fun!!
If y'all would like to start at the beginning, here is the full list.

Oh do please go to the last stop on the hop from here, the lovely Lisa.

Thank you for hopping ~~ Have a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty Kind of Day ~~

Complete Silliness

So I feel like I'm rolling right a long with my July Kit
for the CKC blog.  As a new DT member, I've been
learning the ropes and completely enjoying my first
month.  SO much fun and inspiration over there.
Please do come check us out and make a kit and join
us.  We'd LOVE to see your work.

So this is my dear beautiful Miss A.  She is the funniest
and most beautiful girl inside and out.  She makes me
laugh and cry and enjoy life to the fullest.  She is a joy,
and I am so glad the Father brought her into our lives.
Complete joy this one.

So a couple of months ago, we enjoyed a day
in Branson at the Keeter Center.  It was so much fun
and the food was just spectacular.  It is on the campus
of College of the Ozarks, and they grow the food they
cook and all the servers are students working their
way through school.  It is a unique and wonderful dining
experience. And the campus is just gorgeous, and it
is kept up by students.  Great college.

So it is a little known fact that we are COMPLETE silliness
in two woman's bodies.  I tell you, we can sillie it up.  UP!!
So these pics were taken in front of a gorgeous fireplace
in a very beautiful sitting area, and we managed to sillie it
up even in such a lovely location.  =)

I used this beautiful American Crafts Lucky Charm paper
and Thickers.  The tag you see here, is a Claudine Hellmuth's
resist technique.  I am currently taking her Technique
Toolbox class over at BPC, and it is rocking the Casba, let me tell you!!
Rocking it!  This technique is done with an embossing folder
and acrylic paint.  Gorgeous!!  I LOVE IT!!  I've used ink pads
before, but never paint.  LOVE IT!

Then these hearts were another resist technique using
sticky back canvas and an embossing folder and
acrylic paint.  What?!!  Yep!!  I just punched out my hearts
and away I went.  WOO-HOO!!
And the scallop you see here are large sequins.
Yes, I know right?!  Terrific.  I got them on a clearance
at Hobby Lobby.  Love them!!

And this is MME's chipboard piece(s).
Cute.

So there you have it.  The silliness that is =)

I hope you will come play with us.  If you do,
please leave me a comment and let me know
and I'll head over to the linky and check you out
post haste!

Challenge #3 - Yellowstone River Circa 1999

For challenge #3 at CKC Blog, we are suppose to make a page about our fav place.
Whether that is a LO about that place, or perhaps the colors or textures of that place.
I chose literal =)

My husband and I went to Yellowstone the summer after we got married.  It was indeed
circa 1999, just as the picture notes =)

This page came together so nicely.  I just LOVE the papers that you can cut and use as
embellies, like in the case of these "arrows".  These papers are from my July CKC kit, and
I just LOVE them!

The sun card is a twopeas printable for July and so are the round elements.
Love those cut aparts!!

At the top of my picture there, this is one of my fav ways to use baker's twine.
I take and put a knot in the end of my twine, and start in the middle of
a glue dot and wrap it around and around until the glue dot is covered,
then you have a lovely and interesting embellie ready to stick on your page.
Love that!

Here is a close up of those arrows all dolled up =)
This is a LO that is one of my fav's as of late.
We LOVE Yellowstone, and this LO takes me back
to that vacation.  One of our all time fav's!!

And for this challenge you get two for the price of one.
Your welcome =)

Another fav place of ours is the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area)
in Northern Minnesota.  Just 50 miles south of Canada.
Are you sensing a theme with our vacations?
Yes, we LOVE adventure!!!

This is the 2nd cover I've made for my little tag book.
The first one just wasn't floating the boat, as it were.
So I made a 2nd one, and I"m so much happier with it =)
I LOVE these little pearls left over from a coaster project.
The coasters turned out lovely and so did this cover.
Love it!

This little tag mini highlights my dear husband.
He is the best of men, and I am one Blessed woman.
It is truly a joy to call him mine.
I'm going to get a little easel and put this little mini on my piano.

This is an AMAZING place, and we took some GREAT pics while there.
The falls were gorgeous!!

Especially LOVE this tag!!
This was when we arrived, before we set up camp and got to fishing.
I Love him so!!

Here he is at another falls we had to canoe to get to.
Amazing stuff I tell you!!

Same falls.
Great man.

My papers for this mini, are the Glitz Color Me Happy 6x6 that
I stuck in my kit this month.
Perfect for this project.
The idea for the project came from May Flaum and her GREAT
Camp Scrap class from last month!!

And this is the last page.
Aren't we cute!!  It was stormy and we were cuddled up.
It can get quite chilly in northern Minnesota in mid-May.

Love this and Love him!!!

Thank you for stopping by.  So what about you?  What is your favorite place?
Do a LO or mixed-media art project or a tag mini, and link up with us.  We'd LOVE
to see it!!

Uh-Oh ~~ CKC LO #4

I am loving my July kit, but I must admit, I ended up adding a few sheets
of PP to my kit.  This is one of the add-on kit.  I should do a little post
about that.  Add-on kits are great!  =)

So this sweet story right here was one I wanted to get told sooner
rather than later.  Our little g-babe stuck a bead up his nose about
3-4 weeks ago that required a trip to the ER and then to the ENT the next
day because the ER couldn't get it out.

So this story needed to be told =)

I love this sweet little banner, made from the left overs from my tags that I cut
down.  I love using scraps from the same papers on the LO.  It gives it such
flow.  And yes, some Heidi Swapp mists doesn't hurt either =)

This little wood veneer speech bubble (I mean please, how cute is this?) came from the
clearance rack at Michaels.  I got several in a pack for CHEAP!!!  I like cheap.

anyway.....

I heat embossed my stamped title:  UH-OH (indeed =).

Instead of one sheet of PP across the center to ground my pictures, I used
cut apart tags from Crate Paper.  Oh my, aren't they lovely?  Then I added
some MME brads, also from a Michaels clearance rack.

Look at this sweet baby.  In this pic, he has a bead IN his nose.
This was taken in the ER.  He was fairly happy here.  But he was
about to be quite an unhappy fellow when they tried to take this
bead out and was unsuccessful.  It was craziness!!  So glad he
is ok and it didn't require surgery.  WHEW~~~close one indeed!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have
a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty, Kind of Day ~~
