Retro Chic - August CKCB Kit

Welcome to the CKCB DT Kit Reveal Hop for August.
Can you believe it is August already?
It is a seriously busy birthday month here in the Winslow
household.  So lots of scrappy occasions coming up =)

I'm so glad you are here and if you are following the hop,
you should be here via the lovely Angela's blog.

So this month did I ever ponder on this kit.
These colors I found a little hard to replicate.
Seems I don't have a whole lot of black and cork in my stash.
So I pondered.....
And pondered.....
And pondered some more.

And did come up with my kit, that I actually really like,
but I know will find it a challenge, because it is a little
outside my norm.
But I'm always up for a good challenge =)
so here we go.

The kit for this month is The Confidence Kit from
Scrapping from the Inside Out.

It is a lovely kit.  Isn't she? =)

So it was time, really past time,
for me to get my kit built, and build I did.
Say hello to "Retro Chic".
This is the first month I've ever named my kit,
but I love it!  Kits always have a name, and I thought
mine needed one to.

Here are the lovely patterned papers I chose:
Echo Park:  Happy Camper - Arrowhead
Echo Park:  This & That - Dots - Quilt - Flower Box (2)
MME:  Stella Rose - Hazel
MME:  Follow Your Heart - Be amazing
Basic Grey:  Obscure
Webster's Pages:  Palm Beach - Flamingo Fun
Glitz:  Cashmere Dame - Banner - Gingham - Floral

Here is the lovely Cardstock:
(2) Aquas - Kraft - Brick Red - Sunny Yellow

There were several cut apart sheets in the kit.  I gave this a little thought.
I have a lot of cut apart sheets, that I don't utilize enough,
SO I added several to my kit.
Echo Park:  This & That - Red Floral - Wooden Nickel (2) - Yardsticks - Journaling Cards
Echo Park:  Oh Snap - Cameral Journal Cards
MME:  Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing Ephemera Paper

My mom bought me the Echo Park This & That collection a while back,
and it seems to fit my "Retro Chic" styled kit this month, so I've added
quite a bit of it to this kit.

In fact, I included the sticker sheet and the letter sheet from this line
as well as the sticker sheet from the Echo Park Note to Self line.
Love these and seriously need to use them.
They need a home on a page I tell ya.  =)

And I added some Glitz rubons and some misc. rubons that I've
had in my stash far to long.
There is some MME The Sweetest Thing chipboard,
as well as some Crate Paper chipboard.

Yes there is more....
I know, stop it already!!
But no, I continue =)

A little bit of Indie Chic from MME and some Authentique Icon elements.

I was so glad the original kit has flowers in it.
I heart flowers.
So I added some.
And some leaves.
For good measure =)

And a chipboard mustache.
LOVE.

And random bits and bobs and bottle caps and
doo-dads and thingy-ma-bobs.
Oh and dylusions Ink Spray.
Yes please, every day of the week.

And stamps.
The one on the left is an older MME stamp set that seems to
make the cut more times than not.
Love.
And I added a letter stamp set this month, because it needs some love.
Its feeling a tad lonely.
And then one more set for good measure.
It is a newer set and needs a home on a page.

And with that.....
I called her done.

WOW!!!  I know right!!

I'm exhausted just looking at this baby.
I am REALLY looking forward to the challenge of this kit.

With my July kit I ended up with:
11 LO's
1 Tag Book
&
5 Cards

I call that a pretty successful use of my kit.
Only had one PP left over.  I tucked her safely back in the file,
and will get it out for another kit I am sure, as it is a fav.
So I am hoping for August to be just as successful if not more so,
with such a lovely kit and LOTS of choices to pick from.

So from here please go check out the delightful Jemma's blog.
And here's the full list, just in case you get lost along the way.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
and have a Blessed and Beautiful, Krafty Kind of Day ~~

  3. Oh your post today made me chuckle! I pondered and pondered, too! There are so many wonderfully chic papers in this kit. One of my favorite parts of assembling a kit is naming "her". Glad you found a name for yours...it is perfect.
